I am proud to announce that my song “Trade” feat. Chino XL has been nominated for a WAM 2011 Song of the Year Award in the Urban/Hip Hop category!!!

There is no online public voting for the comp this year, so it’s in the hands of the industry judges, but none-the-less, this is my very first nomination for an Australian music award!

The winner will be announced on October 12th at the Fly By Night Musician’s Club in Freo. For tickets to the award ceremony, please visit www.flybynight.org .

2010 has brought me a life-changing experience, and I’d have to say, my best inspiration yet. My husband and I have moved to Australia, and we’ve had a baby girl! I have never felt so re-newed and valued as a human being, until I gave birth to this beautiful angel. Her name is Amina, and she is definitely my pride and joy. I am loving motherhood and all it brings, and (I also think that all the mothers out there can relate to knowing that) your priorities change. Music is still a passion of mine and always will be, but my main focus right now is my family. We have also been adjusting to Western Australia since moving here, so I apologise for those who have been waiting to hear more music news from me this year. I do promise you that you will get what you have been waiting for in 2012…

“Know Me – The Remixes” will be released in 2012, making it a 2-year project in the making. I wouldn’t have thought it would take that long to put together, but with all in consideration, I have been taking my time with this project, as I want it to be the best release I’ve put out to date… so patience is virtue! I have linked-up with Madison-based producer and emcee “Memory” for this album, taking my music to another level! You will hear extreme versatility in this release, from R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Trance! These are just some of the flavors to look forward to!

There will also be 2 original BONUS tracks on the album, so there will be something new for you.

AND… as an extra thank you for your patience with me this year, you will be happy to know that I am going to make it a free album download for the first month of it’s release!!! After that, it will be available on iTunes… so, if you stay tuned, you will be able to get the album FIRST, for FREE!

Hey y’all!

Hope all is well with you!

A new chapter in my world… just got married to the love of my life, and am moving back to OZ for a while!!! I leave next week!!!!

I’m going to miss Madison, HOWEVER… I can tell you now, I will not miss the snow!!! LOL!!!

Nah, truthfully, Madison has been my home for the past 8 years, and I will miss it greatly… especially the Hip-Hop scene. It gave me the opportunity to shine, and grow as an artist, and for that, I will forever be thankful!

Props to all the Madison and Milwaukee artists, deejays, and producers I have collabed with over the years. It has truly been a pleasure doing business with you!!!

On another note, I didn’t enter the MAMAs this year. I didn’t think it’d be fair since I won’t actually be in Madison anymore, AND I wanted to give other artists a chance to win the “Urban/R&B Artist of the Year” title that I’ve been hogging for the past 3 years. LMAO! (Just kidding!!!) Good luck to all those deserving and hardworking artists who have been nominated this year!!!

I want to say a special “THANK YOU” to all my supporters who have listened to my music, come to my shows, bought my CDs, and just “represent”. If you’re ever in Australia, just look me up!

My music releases will continue, so don’t you worry about that… at the moment, I am working on my remix album “Know Me – The Remixes“, so stay tuned.

CINEMA VILLAGE (NYC)

Please take the time to check out a documentary called ”Fatal Promises“.
Fatal Promises, is an in-depth and honest look into the scourge of human trafficking. Through personal stories of victims of trafficking, and interviews with politicians, non-governmental organizations and activists, Fatal Promises cleverly juxtaposes the brutal realities of human trafficking suffered by victims and battled by activists, with the hollow rhetoric of politicians and pundits who claim to be making significant strides in combating this horrific crime against humanity.
My song “Trade” appears on the rolling credits of the documentary, so there is another reason (besides the obvious), to check it out. 

Fatal Promises will premiere in New York City on September 15th.

The film will run at Cinema Village (22 E. 12th Street, NY, NY) from September 16th through September 24th.

“Day26” is a male music group formed on August 26, 2007 and hand-picked by Sean “Diddy” Combs in a selection at the end of MTV’s Making the Band 4. The group consists of Robert Curry, Brian Andrews, Willie Taylor, Michael McCluney, and Qwanell Mosley.

The group released their first album “Day26” on March 25, 2008, and have recently released their second album, “Forever in a Day“, on April 14, 2009.

Day26 have also recently won the title of “The Best Group Award” in the 2009 BET Awards.

Madison artists Felicia Alima, Black Boy, and L.O.S.T. S.O.U.L.S will entertain as the official openers for Day26.
