QUEENSLAND FLOOD APPEAL

There has been a disastrous flood that has inundated Australia’s Queensland state.

Thousands of people have lost their homes and belongings to the flood, and unfortunately some lives were also taken, and there are still some people missing.

They estimate an entire 2 years to clean-up the mess that this flood has left behind, but we all know that it’s going to take a lot longer for some people to begin to try and piece back their lives to the way it used to be.

It’s times like these you really have to be grateful for your family, friends, food on your table, and the shelter above your head… but just think about those who have lost their family, friends and shelter.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

You might think… “I haven’t heard from FA in a while”, or “Maybe she’s done with the music thing”, but although you may not have heard any new music updates from me this year, the truth of the matter is, I have had the busiest year of my life (outside of the music scene) – and I apologise for the lack of communication.

2010 has brought me a life-changing experience, and I’d have to say, my best inspiration yet. My husband and I have moved to Australia, and we’ve had a baby girl! I have never felt so re-newed and valued as a human being, until I gave birth to this beautiful angel. Her name is Amina, and she is definitely my pride and joy. I am loving motherhood and all it brings, and (I also think that all the mothers out there can relate to knowing that) your priorities change. Music is still a passion of mine and always will be, but my main focus right now is my family. We have also been adjusting to Western Australia since moving here, so I apologise for those who have been waiting to hear more music news from me this year. I do promise you that you will get what you have been waiting for in 2012…

“Know Me – The Remixes” will be released in 2012, making it a 2-year project in the making. I wouldn’t have thought it would take that long to put together, but with all in consideration, I have been taking my time with this project, as I want it to be the best release I’ve put out to date… so patience is virtue! I have linked-up with Madison-based producer and emcee “Memory” for this album, taking my music to another level! You will hear extreme versatility in this release, from R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, and Trance! These are just some of the flavors to look forward to!

There will also be 2 original BONUS tracks on the album, so there will be something new for you.

AND… as an extra thank you for your patience with me this year, you will be happy to know that I am going to make it a free album download for the first month of it’s release!!! After that, it will be available on iTunes… so, if you stay tuned, you will be able to get the album FIRST, for FREE! :)

NEW LOOK FOR 2010

Sup y’all! It’s May, and it’s time for some spring cleaning!

I have been working with my very talented drummer (who also happens to be a web designer) Matt Jacoby on a new look for FELICIAALIMA.COM.

We’re spruced-up a few things, and updated the site to make it more pleasurable and easier to navigate through, so please take the time to browse all the new links and enjoy!

GOING BACK TO AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE!!!

Hey y’all!

Hope all is well with you!

A new chapter in my world… just got married to the love of my life, and am moving back to OZ for a while!!! I leave next week!!!!

I’m going to miss Madison, HOWEVER… I can tell you now, I will not miss the snow!!! LOL!!! :)

Nah, truthfully, Madison has been my home for the past 8 years, and I will miss it greatly… especially the Hip-Hop scene. It gave me the opportunity to shine, and grow as an artist, and for that, I will forever be thankful!

Props to all the Madison and Milwaukee artists, deejays, and producers I have collabed with over the years. It has truly been a pleasure doing business with you!!! :)

On another note, I didn’t enter the MAMAs this year. I didn’t think it’d be fair since I won’t actually be in Madison anymore, AND I wanted to give other artists a chance to win the “Urban/R&B Artist of the Year” title that I’ve been hogging for the past 3 years. LMAO! (Just kidding!!!) Good luck to all those deserving and hardworking artists who have been nominated this year!!!

I want to say a special “THANK YOU” to all my supporters who have listened to my music, come to my shows, bought my CDs, and just “represent”. If you’re ever in Australia, just look me up! :)

My music releases will continue, so don’t you worry about that… at the moment, I am working on my remix album “Know Me – The Remixes“, so stay tuned.

CANCER SUCKS!!!

My band and I did our last US show last November in Wisconsin Rapids. It was for a cancer benefit for a young lady named Lacey (cousin of my drummer Matt Jacoby). Today I found out that she passed away. :( This saddens me so much… it’s not like I knew her personally, but the whole reason for the benefit was to raise money for her cancer treatments. Her death was unexpected, and although you understand that death is a possibility when you’re fighting cancer, everyone thought that she would be on the road to recovery with her treatments.

I am really glad I had a chance to perform at her benefit. There were a lot of people there, and every single one of them did their part to show her the support she needed. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
At least now she is not suffering anymore.
R.I.P. Lacey. (1984 – 2010).
